Failure of Cholesterol Medication
“Failure” of Cholesterol Medication?
- Despite many of our patients receiving expensive long-term lipid-lowering
medication (statins) for heart disease, 58% still have inadequately
controlled total cholesterol levels
- With the addition of just six weeks of interval training, these patients
experience significant improvements in all lipid parameters- often more
marked than those who were are receiving therapy
- These results highlight the complementary effects of our exercise
program and lipid-lowering medication
Improvement in risk profile of those uncontrolled on statins
